Why don't translation software produce good translations?

With the emergence of Information Technology, the world increasingly experiences advances in machine translation software applications.

While they can basically fulfill the purpose of clarifying doubts and translating short and simple paragraphs, machine translation programs remain not a good option for most needs. They help solve specific questions, but are not the best alternative to translate a text that does not dominate.
The biggest failure of machine translation lies in the inability to replace humans. The exchange of translators and interpreters is absolutely impossible, as translation transforms thoughts from one language into another. On the other hand, programs do not understand context and do not interpret.
Translation software always follows the rules, but the language itself is based on numerous exceptions to the rules (irregular verbs, colloquialism, etc.). Therefore, generalizing a language does not mean understanding its subtleties; actually means oversimplifying.
Therefore, the best language translation software will always be inferior to the certified professional translator.
